I am a board-certified neurologist currently practicing in Cebu, Philippines. I earned my undergraduate and medical degree from the University of the Philippines. I completed my Adult Neurology training at the Philippine General Hospital, and served as Chief Resident in my senior year. I am a Fellow of the Philippine Neurological Association after successfully passing the written and oral examination of the Adult Neurology Specialty Board. I further trained in Parkinson's Disease & Movement Disorders at the University of Toronto-Toronto Western Hospital under the mentorship of Prof. Anthony Lang. In my senior year of fellowship training, I had rotations in subspecialty clinics, including Electrophysiology in Movement Disorders and Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) Programming, while at the same time serving as Chief Fellow. I am an active member of the Movement Disorders Society of the Philippines (MDSP), the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (IPMDS) and the Rare Neurological Diseases Special Interest Group. Moreover, I have a strong commitment to education and research. I am currently the Chair of the Research Committee of Chong Hua Hospital Cebu and an Assistant Professor at the Cebu Institute of Medicine, teaching Neuroanatomy and Neurology. I have delivered lectures and participated in university, national, and international-level scientific conferences. I have published in the field of General Neurology and Movement Disorders, including first-author publications and co-authorship in respectable, peer-reviewed journals. My main research interests include therapeutics, genetics, and palliative care particularly in Parkinson's disease, atypical parkinsonism, X-linked Dystonia-Parkinsonism (XDP, DYT3), genetic and other rare movement disorders. Together with my mentors, I have also authored international book chapters in Movement Disorders. In addition, I am a peer reviewer for various local and international neurology and movement disorders journals.
